I am looking at buying a 2005 Prius from a friends friend. It has 170,000 miles and had the 12V battery replaced recently. This will be my first car purchase and I am looking for some pointers/advice. Is there anything in particular that I should be looking for or be concerned about before I buy this car? Is the bigger battery going to need replacing? I am aware that it is expense for that. Is this going to be good car for a college student? Also, I am looking for any cheap suggestions on installing an AUX line. I do not want to use an FM transmitter or the cassette adapter. Thanks for any advice/recommendations!
welcome! i don't think so. i would take your budget and look across the gamut of japanese cars for the best deal. you're paying a premium for a hybrid, and at 170k, any issue can pop up at any time and cost serious money. all the best!
I agree. One thing to consider is a program car. Toyota dealers will lease a New Prius and it will come back to the dealer in two years. Toyota will inspect it and give it a 100,000 mile drive train warranty. and put it back on the lot. A few days age I saw a 2014 Prius ..48000 miles ..$15000
