I've only had my 2010 Prius for a year and the other day most of the warning lights came on so I had the car towed to my dealership. I almost fainted when (after more than 2 hours) they came up with the diagnosis below. None of the mechanics have ever seen this part fail and they're not sure what will happen if I don't fix it. $2200 for the part, 6 hours of labour to install and they're going to charge me 2 hours for finding the problem. Are they scamming me because I'm a woman? Has any one had this problem? I'm seriously considering never owning a Prius again - it was my dream car and now it's my nightmare. I'm at a loss as to what to do - take a big loss and trade it in or fix it. There is a third gen brake recall, we had it done. Maybe only 2010/11? In our notification it was described as "inspect, and if necessary, replace the brake booster assembly". Too much to type, I'll post a pic: There's also this number: SOSH-966-1A
