Any reason why the bars grow left to right, but the cars are pointing backwards? what does it look like on right hand models?? It seems like a "copy & paste" error when reversing the software from Japan right hand drive to rest of the world left hand drive. What do other drivers in e.g. UK see? Do the cars point right or left (like in the pic)? I posted on the FB Toyota Germany page and they said they will feedback this to development. Maybe in Gen5.... Or maybe at my next service (that would be amazing if they had a sw update by then...! )
I could say cynically that, no matter how frugal, running a car always moves you fiscally backwards. As part of "the rest of the world" - Australia, we drive on the left side, and ours are driving right to left as well. All the screens I just checked are driving right to left - EcoMode symbol, Energy Monitor, A/C screen.
Ok - it's bedtime here - tomorrow. I just looked up the Owners Manual illustrations. But it's $ not Euros.
It's OK - I am interested in knowing in which direction the graph is built and how are the cars displayed according to it. I don't remember if the currenty is linked to the language - I don't remember setting it 2 weeks ago
Can anybody explain HOW do you input the gas price? I've read the manual... and still can't figure it out. Thanks. EDIT: I just saw this thread How to set fuel price | PriusChat
I understand now, having read through the thread. It's a gen 4 thing. But just try reading and understanding the title, reading it cold.
Maybe it's a psychology thing. The car you enter will almost always be worst than the Prius so the Prius' bar is shorter. By facing them to the left, it looks like the Prius is shrinking the bar by pushing it to the left. If the cars were facing to the right, it looks like the longer bar is better. (which is why it looks weird to us cause we've been programmed to think that longer bars are usually better)
That is a reasonable explanation. Maybe another type of graph would have been less confusing - in the end I look at the nuber though
Thanks for the pic! Those look ok to me - at least the second car of the score has the lines behind it, not in front of it...! And the one of the avg fuel consumption at least is behind with an arrow. Though a flag it is often meant to indicate a place to go to, not necessarily to start from... a "pin" would have been better maybe to indicate "start location" My only gripe is the bars in front of the cars instead of their back in the cost comparison overview. But the "psychological" explanation above is already convincing in a way
