Every time I go over a speed bump, I hear a very noticeable grinding noise as the tire goes up it sounds grindy and as it goes down it sounds grindy front driver side area. Took it to a dealer and they said there is no problem. Therefore, should I just forget about it until there is a problem? It doesn't affect function, but I do hear it going over speed bumps and not regular shallow bumps. Please advice before the warranty expires! Been almost 1 year with my big bad Prius C and like McDonalds I'm lovin it! Thanks Prius Bros!!
If you stop the car, get out and stand at the corner where you're hearing the noise from, then put your hands on the car and give it a good series of pushes to pump the suspension up and down, do you hear the noise?
Hello Prius bro! No I don't hear anything when I push down! Actually your post got me thinking that perhaps it's that plastic guard thing under the front end that is either rubbing on the tire or rubbing on the ground itself because I have to go fairly fast to drop the car low enough that it makes the sound. If I go slow it barely makes a grinding sound. What is weird is if I back up and turn the wheel left while reversing over a bump, I hear it. If I turn the wheel right while reversing, I don't hear it after going over bump. Very strange indeed
Did you manage to get it fixed or it's still there? Sorry for the super late response. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Said he was going fast over speed humps. Betcha he was scraping the bottom of the plastic aero coverings. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
