If they had a sub $40k (maybe even $45k) pickup that could still get 200+ miles, seating for 4, and ability to tow; then it would be become my daily driver for sure.
Tesla's Master Plan reads like an 8 year old's wish list for Santa. Tesla was supposed to be self funding. Roadster profits were going to be used for Model S production. Model S profits were going to be used for Model 3. Superchargers were going to have Solar City panels and generate excess electricity. I'm more interested in seeing the numbers behind the Musk Clan Bailout Plan. I'll be surprised if they can push even 80000 vehicles out the door and amazed if they can reduce the net loss for 2016.
And yet they're leading the way on long-range vehicle electrification. I'm sure the balance sheets for Toyota's H2 experiment look absolutely abominable.
Tesla Model S Crossed 100,000 Sales Milestone This Month well your gloom & doom is a day late and 20,000 cars short . . . and that's just for the S, not counting Roadsters & X's. btw - the article's statement about, "this month" ... that statement was from an article last year. But don't let that bit o good news stop the grey skys on anyone's part.
Tesla lost $800 Million dollars this year so far has not met sales numbers either and has yet to make a profit, how long till Wall Street turns their backs on Tesla?
How many years did Amazon operate at a loss, and now look at it. The same could be said for hundreds, if not thousands, of companies throughout the years.
and how much did WWII 'cost' 'us'? Maybe we should have not got envolved in that, too? Or the opposite view ... that it takes a lot of investment to get a higher yield. Here - it's a costly investment to curtial fossil fuel depletion - and its ill effects. .
how much did it cost gm stockholders to keep them alive? tesla will be fine, as long as cash flow does not become a problem. and if it does, the gov should bail their a$$e$ out too.
yea - it IS kind of ironic how when everyone else's businesses/companies get boatloads of $$ for incentives - tax breaks - bailout etc, how suddenly that seems to be okay. .
i'm not sure of the thought process, but to me, we have one american manufacturer leading the world in ev technology and products. now they are trying to do the same with batteries and solar. and most of their products are made in the usa, with american jobs. isn't it in our best interest as a nation to do everything possible to insure their success? this is always what i find confusing when the ftc or justice department seems to feel the need to break up american corporations because they are getting too big. meanwhile, our worldwide competitors are rubbing their hands together and applauding.
So its okay to use tax money to bailout Telsa if needed, but when its used to build a hydrogen infrustrure it's looked down opon?!
Awww - c'mon bisco what's a little austrailian coal as long as it's cheap ... & Japanese cars, for subsidizing a mostlyJapanese project? No big deal! .
What American company is building H2 vehicles to take advantage of that garbage network? To hell with inefficient H2.
