Today, when I returned to my parked car from grocery shopping, I noticed a strong interior electrical burning smell. Like wires burning or similar. When starting the car the yellow warning triangle came on and the hybrid warning message to pull over and park the car. Any thoughts what could cause this? welcome! those lights will produce trouble codes that will lead you to the culprit. how many miles on her?
toyota will read the codes, or if you diy, you can buy a code reader. definitely sounds battery related. was it in the cabin, or under the hood?

you get the dash lights because all electricals go through the computer. those lights are generic, until you read the codes.
The system is giving you a warning? (just in case of your sense of smell is not working - …fiendishly clever, those Japanese! )
