I just past 12 years of Prius ownership and have updated my extensive data. It's all on the web site at Paul's Prius Home. Here's the summary highlights.
The 04 traction battery needed replacement just before the 11 year mark. Fortunately we found Matt at Texas Hybrid Batteries. He came to the house and installed the battery for less than $1,000 with a 3-year warranty. My data is a bit fractured since I'm driving the 07 since handing the 04 down to my daughter.
Display problems? My center console display in my '08 went out after 8 years ownership. $2600 to replace it. Instead I traded the car for a '13 Prius2. Low miles leased, certified. I think it's better than the '08. Higher mpg (ca. 53) in eco mode, more power from bigger engine. Center console display doesn't have much car info. Most of that is on electronic dash next to speedometer.
