BAD NEWS: ...and it's WHITE"! And; I have a Samsung Galaxy S5, which doesn't support wireless operation. Some good news is that there is a reasonably priced solution to the "wireless charge deficiency" of the Galaxy S5. Two possible thrifty solutions I've discovered are: 1. Amazon offers the "Qifull" charging receiver card adaptor for $12.99 plus ship. 2. And or; US Cell offers the "TYLT" charging receiver card adaptor for $19.99 over the counter. Both fit within the existing confines of the Galaxy S5 unit, as is. I opted for the US Cell "TYLT" because I am an "electronics moron" with an overactive libido; and the sales tech was hot, with a cute smile, and a superior knowledge of electronics than I. And; she could install it for me on the spot. And; she could guarantee that I could begin charging it immediately when I put the phone in "the bidet" and switched it on. And; she told me to come back again. So; with tax is was $21.16.
Did it work? I got one from EBay (Chinese?) which works on it's own charger base which was included, but really doesn't work in the PRIUS - if moved around, I can finally find the EXACT right position and angle for it to work, but after a while it must shift from that EXACT position.
Yes Alan; it works. And it does not need any other additions. My Samsung Galaxy S5 now charges wirelessly in the Prius charging 'trough'. The TYLT wireless charging card attaches to the battery within the phone by an adhesive strip. The contacts are held in place by the compression created when the back cover is re-attached. And the phone still fits into the "Body Glove" protective case. It'd been three weeks; and no problems have been noted so far.
I just traded in my Galaxy S5 for an S7. I have a genuine unused Samsung black S-View charging case. You just take off the existing back of the phone and replace it with the charging case and you have wireless charging plus additional S-View features. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
