Ok so tech stream says cell block 2 is failing. So I clear the code check the voltage on those particular cells and both reading 7.7v. all the cells besides two are in 7.5-7.7 range. The two cells reading lower are the first cell in cell block one at 7.46 and the last cell in cell block 14 is at 7.51 at the lowest two voltages. Any advice on whether I should go ahead and replace the 7.46 cell or should I try to balance out the pack to 7.5? I feel like cell block two voltages having such an increase could be a problem but I feel like it's something else. Any ideas? During a load test while still in the car cell block 2 voltage was higher than the rest. I have a full pack grid charger and a small discharger. What does this even mean? This statement indicates you do to understand what balancing is. To balance a module, you need to gently over-charge the module (@ < 350mA) so that the lowest charged cell within that module gets fully charged. The nominal fully charged voltage is ~1.4 V per cell, so you should be looking for a fully charged module voltage of ~ 8.4 V. Any module that cannot attain ~8.4 V and is a multiple of ~1.2-1.4 V less, indicates a failed cell–which means throw out the module and replace. What do you mean by that? A block (2 modules) that is indicated in Techstream with a P301x (presumably P3012, in your case), should charge faster under charge; and discharge faster under load, so what you are telling us does not seem consistent. More info would help. Put your pack back together, if it is apart, and do a full balance charge followed by a three cycle discharge/charge regime. After that come back and revisit the state of each block. If you still get P301x codes, replace the ones identified.
Most blocks in tech stream on live data were showing like 15.5-16.9 Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.

Does your discharger only do 1 module at a time? You need to discharge all modules down to the same level (1st discharge to .8 V per cell or 4.8 V per module, before grid charging.

Yea that's what I'm going to do. I was just fluttered with the numbers i was seeing Bc when I had put the pack back in the car it was balanced out and once another cell went out it went haywire. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
waste of time! why would you mess about discharging one module at a time before doing a grid charge? why not just run the whole pack down to about 168v with a 100w load, while trying not to drive any modles too far under 6v .. then grid charge the thing 24hrs, repeat, repeat.... 15.5 vs 16.9 is about the difference you would see if a cell had failed
Except, according to the OP, the 16.9 one is the outlier. My thoughts, too. Not hard to build a light bulb discharger.

100 is good until the first module hits 6v that's when I swap to a 60 ... then a 40 ... 25 ..15.. nitey nite modules lol
