I just purchased a 2011 Prius and when I went to turn on the Windshield wipers they did not work. But when I manually pushed up on the stick they worked. Do I need a new motor or is this a fuse issue?
All three clicks, slow medium fast. They all don't work. It only works when I manually push up on the stick.
I suspect the wiper switch itself, or the wiring between the switch and the Body ECU, maybe a connector partly dislodged if there's been work done in either area. Motor and power seem ok if an upward push works. -Chap
Everybody wants every problem to be a fuse, but I strongly doubt it in this case, because you have seen the motor operate when you push the stalk up. Anyway, it seems like the usual reason everybody wants every problem to be a fuse is that it seems like an easy explanation, which it really isn't. Supposing you did find a blown fuse, what you'd have is a problem that blew the fuse, and you wouldn't have found it yet. -Chap
