Do you know where I can download/purchase/get information on removing the cluster from a 2016 Prius generation 4? Thank you for the help!
My son cracked the plastic cover to the cluster. I want to remove it and replace it was another piece of plastic or replace it with another cluster.
The lens itself, or the cover over the top of the cluster? The lens is part number 83852-47L00 and costs about $30-40 it looks like, the cover's 83821-47L20 and costs about $50-75 it looks like...
Oh, that's no good that it's damaged. Sorry, I don't know, but if the dealer is charging that much, it doesn't sound like an easy job. Maybe an auto-electrician might be cheaper, or a crash repairer.
I'm not aware of how, but TIS (which I linked to earlier in the thread) will have instructions. I'm guessing it's most likely rather easy, but the dealer is probably quoting the price to replace what they think is the "entire" cluster (but the part that they've found is most likely just the cluster's motherboard and displays).
Is that the only way to get a oem service manual? I got the service manual for my acura when it was new for $75 via Helms, but they only carry the owners manual for the prius. The service manual proved to be very valuable as the car got older and I had to do more and more work on it...
There are some third-party manuals, but none for Gen 4 yet. For instance, Toyota Prius (01-12) Haynes Repair Manual | Haynes Manuals
