I see no mention of that in the US manual. We do not have the alarm feature either. I think if you unlock the door and do not open a door within a set time, the door locks again.
My last 2 FORDs had a double-UNLOCK - which meant one click on UNLOCK on FOB unlocked only the Driver's Door - 2 clicks unlocked both doors. (and 2 clicks on the BOOT/TRUNK button popped the Boot/Trunk without unlocking the car). All very convenient.
So google is my friend. Here is the article I read. http://www.autonews.com/article/20161207/RETAIL04/161209877/mystery-device-helps-thieves-steal-cars-with-push-button-ignitions
That's interesting - I asked about that when I bought the car, and they said they could arrange the global window up/down & get rid of the reverse beeping, but that double click unlock isn't available. I'll check again. With FORD, you just press the sequence in the handbook and it's set.
Unlock one door or all doors on the first click is a setting you can do if you have the nav. screen, or the dealer can do for you if you don't have the nav. screen. One click to unlock just the drivers door and the second click to unlock all doors has been on Toyota vehicles for years (if the vehicle is set for the first click to unlock only the drivers door). Even my 2007 FJ Cruiser has it. I use it on Pearl S (2012 Prius) once in a while too. With the FJ the one door/all doors first click is set by pressing and holding both buttons for a few seconds. With Pearl S it's set in the menus using the nav. screen or by the dealer using their programming device.
Amplification attack seems to be a real thing. Thieves using a $17 device to break into cars with keyless systems Better put your keys in a faraday cage.
The articles I read would not state what is vulnerable. One article said it did not work on 2017 Chevrolet products.
Mine won't do that - and doesn't seem to have that option. But mine has the global window OPEN/CLOSE which yours doesn't. This is a Snip from the EURO Manual which is the same as mine - except that mine has also the alarm button. (My manual actually doesn't make sense - seeing you can't buy a PRIUS with a Moon Roof in Australia.)
So TOYOTA have at least 5 different lock/unlock systems worldwide. I can just imagine the TOYOTA design department "Heads they get double lock ..."
Mine references a full size spare tire that is unavailable in the US. I have not heard of it available anywhere.
I read recently on PriusChat that it was available Middle East somewhere. other things available on "privileged" markets: Moon Roof (not available Australia) Auto Parking (not available Australia) Solar roof (I think - maybe only Japan) Thermo-Tect Lime Green Paint (Japan only) allowable trailer towing (in UK at least) Dual Climate Control Full Size Spare (Middle East?)
I think that was kithmo, but yes, in UK we get a car alarm and dual zone climate control. But we don't get the American warranties and accessory services. .. and we don't get Ozzy weather and venomous vermin.
