So, back in the fall, I order my two filters from Rock Auto and they were $14 something, including postage. I go ahead and order two more today -- exact same filters -- and now Rock Auto is down to $10xx, including postage. Basically saved $4 over the fall prices. Cheapest I could find elsewhere (reputable) was a few cents below $14. BTW, I blocked out the meeces a few years ago and had had no problem with them at all in the cabin filter, but they got in last fall and there was a big nest today on top of the filter. I must have a hole somewhere in my hardware cloth screens. going to have to wait to fix that, my left wrist, injured during a Jan. 3 ice storm, is still pretty much useless for any significant torque. Could not even use it to check the cabin filter....luckily it is pretty easy with just one hand
That you hate mice or that you like Rock Auto or you cannot use your left hand? BTW, I am looking for another race for you guys. Up to running the .... Avenue of the Giants Marathon That would be the Avenue of the Giants, among the redwood trees in extreme Northern California.
meeces, but they invade our house. i think i've taken out 50 this year. the only place i run anymore is to the bathroom.
Must be something tasty in the woodwork to the rodentia population. Either that or they think there is strength in numbers and eventually you'll be overwhelmed. But it sounds like your resolve is still there. Enjoy your southern respite. Is the Happiest Place on Earth one you frequent while in the greater Orlando area?
i know, big bucks. in florida, they have a couple of large area's that are free. entertainment and restaurants, like universal city walk, no rides though. we spend quite a bit of time there. free fireworks every night!
Same out here on the "best coast". They have downtown Disney and people watching there is a great, particularly around certain holidays (Halloween for instance). Fireworks every night as well.
potentially coming out for the waste management open next january, then driving to san diego and up the coast. really need to put the hard sell on.
Golf fan or also a player? Plenty of nice golf courses out here for recreational play open year round . Does Mrs. Bisco like the fruit of the vine? If so, there are plenty of wine release parties in early February that might help your case. That's where we spent last Saturday then finished the day off with a live hockey game.
How a Rock Auto parts post got here....but... I grew up in Southern California. Downey. Home of one of the Apollo things. I was not really that much into the space missions. Having said that most of my relatives started out in the Central Los Angeles region, but moved in the mid 1960s as part of "White Flight." Meaning minorities were moving into the area and my relatives moved out. Most moved to Fullerton, Anaheim, etc. Which meant that I got to spend a week or so at each relative's home each summer. From any of their homes you could see the Disney fireworks each night. And, we went to Disneyland at least once a week. In those days, it was free to enter Disneyland. You only had to pay to ride or eat (luckily not to use the restrooms). Dear old Walt only started charging to enter once the "hippies" invaded and refused to leave. The good old days....
Yeah, I could go on about Disney history. Had a number of relatives who worked for Walt. But that should be another post. Kris, who started this thread, sort of scares me. Well. O.K., it is sort of a love/love thing.
We actually did a tour and tasting of the Silverado Winery which was owned by Walt's daughter Dianne. You could definitely tell that the winery was a hobby based on the amount of art present. My wife took a shine to a Ratotouille poster they had hanging in the entranceway and they said it was one of 2 ever made. When in the dining room there was a painting that used to be in Grand Central Terminal which the guide said was insured for $30 MM. Made us want to go to the Disney Museum in San Francisco.
I'm sipping wine and listening to the music of one of best artists ever: Richard Manuel and you guys are taking my post way off topic. Stop it. Unless, of course, you want to talk about the Avenue of the Giants run.
