I have worked on cars, trucks, and equipment for over 40 yrs. I love the idea of a hybrid (no more dead/dying young soldiers on my conscience from now on) since I bought a 2007 with 200k miles for $4,500. Too bad we haven't had honest, thoughtful political leaders to "lead" this country into energy independence. My wife started with a new 2015 (trading from a Venza), then traded up a year later to a 2016. Just a fabulous ride and great mileage! Recently, she had her 2016 take off on her while parking in the tiny 8-car apt parking lot and did 10k in damage. So, I have recently been practicing shifting into NEUTRAL. I leave it up to Toyota and State Farm to work out the philosophical implications. She wasn't hurt at all. She still drives it every day. I have been learning the ropes about a hybrid; did the 12v battery. Now I have other related issues, but I really like my used car, especially the mileage!
welcome! sorry aboutt her accident, glad she's okay. there have been incidents where people step on the accelerator instead o f the gas. i hope they sort it out for her. i know as i get older, confusion reigns. all the best!
