Over the past few months I've been receiving numerous letters in the mail to complete online surveys for my Prime (bought it in November). I've ignored all of them, except for one that offered a $20 Amazon gift card for completing the survey online. The survey only took 10 minutes, but it also asked if I would be interested (if i qualified based on my demo/answers) in a focus group that's being held in my area for $225...I thought why not! So this evening I got a call from the research company and the focus group is being held on Monday very close to where I live/work. $225 for 2 hours in the late afternoon. Has anyone ever attended one of these? Seems like easy money...
I did, in 2009, after getting my first Prius. I strongly suspect my session was paid for by Honda, trying to judge Prius vs Insight vs Tesla roadster buyers. They ended up paying more than was advertised.
Rats! I only got entered in a 'sweepstake'. <GERRRRR> Found in SPAM trap: MaritzCX survey | PriusChat Of course I live in Huntsville AL and there haven't been a lot of Prius Prime sold in SouthEast Toyota Region. Heck, I flew to Rhode Island and drove mine home. Bob Wilson
I am a professional marketing researcher (and Gen 3 Prius owner) who has had the pleasure of doing a limited amount of analysis in this category. Among our many research tools we conduct "car clinics" using prototype or virtual vehicles as well as focus groups. Focus groups are an excellent opportunity to help manufacturers understand your thoughts and feelings at a much deeper level than we could ever get from a questionnaire. Essentially focus groups help us to "connect the dots" behind the numbers and can lead to breakthrough insights. When I started in the research industry 25 years ago, respondents were typically incentivized $40-50 for a two-hour session. Honoraria have obviously increased over time. If you are being offered $225, it could be a very interesting project!
Be sure to hit the lack of 'Lane Keep Assist'! It should roll out in a firmware update. (just my opinion)
Opps, I wasn't supposed to recommend "A FOX babe with big boobs and a dirty mind"? Bob Wilson ps. Severely married but not dead.
I attended one for a video game. I only received $60. I love these things. I participated in a one year GPS monitoring of my driving habits. Got $500 for that. Odds and ends surveys netted me a few bucks. I never won any of the surveys and never got the Amazon gift cards that were promised.
