"Our 2010 Canadian Tourning does not have the Navigation Screen, but does have the back up camera: it's display is in the left corner of rear view mirror." –Mendel Leisk, I wish that I had your system–backup camera and NO Navigation. Unfortunately, I have the opposite . . . –Sorry for the old school quoting. I still can't quite figure out the interface here. When I select "quote," it doesn't, so I'm still trying to figure it out.
My wife drives a 2015 Ford Escape. The navigation on it is abysmal. It's already outdated. Am I the only one to come to the conclusion that navigation systems built into cars are a waste of space and expense? Smart phones have easier and better options and are simpler to upgrade or change.
Highlight text you want to quote and there should be a green pop-up with option to quote. Or just click reply to quote all. Oh hey, here's how it looks:
IIRC, my sister's Rav4 had something like that. I kind of like having it up by the mirror rather than low on the dash.
Nope, none of us think system Nav is worth it. I currently have a 2005 top trim level–leather(ette), JBL, Nav, etc. and I'm looking for a similar trim level on something newer. BUT, a newer Prius 2 is looking more interesting to me as I could just add a Pioneer AVH-4200NEX and a Pioneer backup camera–allowing my Android to talk to the Pioneer for navigation. This seems like a far superior option to Toyota options. –Interesting . . . https://www.crutchfield.com/p_1304200NEX/Pioneer-AVH-4200NEX.html
Having just returned home from a road trip that involved small towns, I was surprised how often I did not have a cell signal and ended up relying on the Prius NAV. And NO I do not have T-Mobile!!

My 2009 Gen II (touring) has the back-up camera, but no navigation, in fact the nav option in the other Prius on the lot when I chose mine, was one of the reasons I didn't buy it, even though the colour was nice, that and the fact that it didn't have the improved suspension, fogs and HIDs, it also had BlooToof, but I couldn't get it to sync with my phone, so I went with the Magnetic Grey one with the touring package! The mapping s/w in my SmartPhone is always up-to-date, and is far superior to the Garmin 276 I had in my old Corolla DX Wagon! (…just sayin! )
After a 7,000 mile road trip, I was able to down load my trip on Garman base camp. It's nice for those with questionable memories.
…very nice, however I'm able to do the same from google maps on any of my devices! BTW: a friend of mine recommended waze, so I thought I'd give it a try since it's more real-time than google, but when it started asking permission to access all my contacts and other info. I gave it the Order of The Boot, pretty damned quick!
Yeah sorry, just noticed, it's the display of back up camera, in left corner, only when in reverse. Otherwise it reverts to full width mirror. One downside, maybe more so being smaller image: it is fun-house wide angle, objects are VERY MUCH closer than they appear.
