The other night I got out of my car and was half way to my front door when the alarm started going off. Not too weird, but the next day I turned the car off and it turned itself back on. The next day I get in to go to work and the clock is reset. It starts just fine and I head to work. I get in to go home for the day and the car is dead. I jumped it and it turned right on. I drove my 40 minute commute and turned it off when I got home. Tried starting it right back up and no luck. I replaced the 12 volt battery about 2 years ago? Could it really be the battery again? Only has 120k miles on it. 2008. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks in advance!
Very possibly, it depends on your driving pattern and what has happened with the 12 V battery over those two years. The description of the symptoms leans very heavily toward a failed 12 V, or at least (but not hopeful) a really run down battery. Do as JC says and test it, or have it tested. Not just for residual CCA, but how well it holds a charge overnight and under load.
