Hi everyone I am new here & just joined the Prius life. I am coming from a 2005 Acura TL 6 Speed & never thought I'd drive a Prius but here I am. So I recently purchased a 2005 Prius with 140k that had bad HV battery. I fixed the battery from a local Craigslist Prius guy that apparently fixed 4 modules & did rebalancing whatever that is. The car drives good so far but I still need to do few more repairs. It needs new brakes, & I think some suspension work because it makes some clunking noises when going over bumps. In the couple days I've had it I changed the coolant, oil, inverter flush. Is there anything else I need to do? I was thinking about transaxle fluid & spark plugs. Also, I'm averaging 45mpg but sometimes can get 50. Is this normal? My friend that has a 2004 with 240k just got 500 miles on single tank and last bar wasn't flashing yet.
congrats and welcome! sounds like you're on the right track. do you have the service history? a lot should have beeb done at 100-120k, so you may not need to do much. 45-50 is average, and with about 10 gallons to the flashing pip, 500 is doable. all the best!
Unfortunately no service records. The car had been sitting for more than a year prior to my ownership
