looking for some info on sound deadening I saw a few posts including pics. I am unable to see these pics with a click. shows a small box and a .img or other file extension. have't been on the site for awhile but am I missing something? maybe it's this windows 3.11 software. help please, thanks
I've been running into the same issue. All the broken ones seem to be imageshack links, but I've not had any luck getting beyond that.
Yeah if they were hosted on a 3rd party site, they may have been removed/deleted so it's out of our hands. Additionally, I've noticed a few images that are hosted on PriusChat just needed a little tweaking in their filename (because of forum updates) so let me know and I'll see if those images are retrievable. I've fixed a few that I've come across but obviously I'm not going to go through every single thread since the forum started.
3rd party hosting plain should be banned, it's totally useless. The reason so many pics are gone is because many image hosting services have gone to for pay service only in the last week. Many sites are affected by these changes and people who have pics there are having them held "ransom" unless they want to pay up.
Does this mean that you will be contributing to the cost of enlarging the storage on all of servers where you visit these FREE forums ??
If your worried about cost... The script and page content on most forums could be reduced to around 1% of its current size while maintaining the same verbal content. (Open the script for this thread, there is more script than content) So I would strongly support removing the invisible unreadable side and loosing a small amount of "formatting" and menu crapola. Tell the mods to offer an optional priuschat 1994 edition that has no graphics, drop down menus or scripting all in HTML 3.2 format and sign me up, my cellular data will thank you.
It is not the "mods" who control stuff like that. And the owner/operator doesn't seem capable of keeping the current version running right.......much less changing anything.
I've notice the linking of images in posts have changed. My last post with images had to be inserted using TinyPic in order to work.
