Hey everyone, Team ChargePoint here! We’ve recently joined the community and we're thrilled to be here taking part in the discussions around EVs! If you’re not yet familiar with ChargePoint, we’re the world's largest electric vehicle charging network. You’ve probably seen our charging spots around town, but you might not know we offer charging for homes, apartment complexes and condos, too. We’re here to be a resource to everyone looking for advice, informed opinions, information about EV charging and all the new and exciting things happening in this space. Looking forward to joining the conversation and can’t wait to meet you all! - Team ChargePoint
This is newbies. They jumped right into the Prime forum to promote their contest. I assume they did not get the response they desired so they posted here to add the vast PiP crowd like you to their marketing. We know how much the PiP needs recharging...
some are free, some are 'expensive, the rest are somewhere in between. the problem is that electricity costs vary widely throughout the country.
That's the same as over here in Olde Englande, inconsistent charges and patchy population of outlets. IIRC, our infrastructure is not able to carry the extra power required for more than one or two chargers at service areas - if at all! Constructors provide the minimum necessary supply with little room for expansion to keep costs to a minimum and profits at maximum. There I go again. Stop rattling my cage!
We wanted to update this thread to let you all know that we've recently introduced tap to charge for iPhone, Android, and Apple Watch! To use this new feature, all you need to do is hold your phone (with the ChargePoint app installed) against any ChargePoint station to start charging. See how it works in the video below. You can read more about the new feature on this LA Times article, or on the ChargePoint blog!
Tap to Charge is not currently available in the UK, but we are working on it - it's on our product roadmap!
Thanks, I'm not in the market for a BEV just yet, because of the limited charging infrastructure locally. I am seriously considering a plug-in hybrid tho.
Charging at home can be tricky if you live in a condo and have to get approval from your HOA to charge. We've had hundreds of conversations with EV drivers to provide you with simple tips that will make it easy for your HOA to say “yes!” to your EV charging request. You'll find our top 3 tips for negotiating with your HOA and a free eBook on condo charging, on the ChargePoint blog!
We're honored to have had the opportunity to partner with Associa to share and explore how getting around in gas cars affects emissions and local air quality. We also offer information on how HOA board members can help make a difference by promoting alternative transit in their community. You can find the full post here, on the Associa website! Is your HOA board enabling your community to reduce emissions and improve air quality?
I once bought a house in an HOA. Never again! Can't see paying someone to tell me I can't paint my house the color I want or have out-of-state visitors park their motor home in my drive for a few days. Or if I can charge my PHEV.
We do hope that those who do need to align with an HOA, or anyone who may be a board member, will find the information helpful! We strive to continue educating communities on the benefits of exploring alternative transit, in an effort to help reduce the environmental footprint within those communities.
Ha, loading the app and it wants my credit card before opening, BS, take you hands out of my pockets, I was interested in locations, now I have zero interest.
Hi there! You can use the station map on the ChargePoint app without adding a card. In fact, you can even use it without an account - simply tap the "skip" option when you open the app, located on the first screen! Shoot us a private message if you need further tips using the ChargePoint app, and I'd be happy to help! @Prodigyplace @RCO
