I keep getting an error trying to look at the GasBuddy 'heat map.' I tried the App but it is just a click-bait fraud. So now I'm wondering if something bad happened to GasBuddy? Bob Wilson
Yes. Like normal. If Harvey is causing a price spike, why does the area it hit still have the cheapest gas in the nation?
Ok, now I'm starting to see the problem after getting the Java console up: [Error] You have exceeded your daily request quota for this API. We recommend enabling billing to get a higher quota: Google Maps JavaScript API Usage Limits | Google Maps JavaScript API | Google Developers nb (js:34:336) cn (common.js:52:439) (anonymous function) (common.js:193:437) c (common.js:46:407) Global Code (QuotaService.RecordEvent:1) Upon further research, I'm finding: The Google Maps JavaScript API has the following limits in place: Standard Usage Limits Users of the standard API: Free until exceeding 25,000 map loads per 24 hours Note: Quota exceptions may apply. Learn more here. Enable pay-as-you-go billing to unlock higher quotas: After exceeding the free usage limits, billing at $0.50 USD / 1000 additional requests, up to 100,000 per 24 hours. Premium Usage Limits Google Maps APIs Premium Plan customers: Requests applied against the annual purchase of Maps APIs Credits. See Premium Plan Usage Rates and Limits for more information. Additional benefits of a premium plan: Annual contracts with enterprise terms 24 hour technical support Service level agreement (SLA) Licenses for internal, OEM, and asset tracking use cases Contact Sales for more info. So what we have here is a back-end "usage limit" that is poorly described and not easily fixed by the individual, so far. Bob Wilson
My problem may be a by-product of disabling pop-up ads, a potential revenue stream. I had left the ad-block, plug-in enabled and only turned it off when a web site requested it off. I left the ad blocker on because of the auto-play videos. Other than keeping the audio interface off or a set of ear buds, not in my ears, could I escape the promiscuous auto-play racket. I may need to enable ads on other web site that use Google Maps to avoid exhausting the 'quota' associated with the Google maps API. Bob Wilson
Its working a little better for me today but I still cannot drill down to the local, The nite you mentioned it I was also having probs,
I'm a GB beta tester. We asked about the web sites and app being slow. Here's the straight story direct from the GB product manager on the beta forum. 9/2/17 "Our servers are running at full capacity as a result of extreme usage in Texas right now. This is why the app has been pretty slow this past week."
