Inventory finally ramping up and now up to ~2,000 nationwide. Local dealership websites show Northern California just got a $500 manufacturer incentive increase this month, bringing it up to $1,500. Toyota getting ready for the Ioniq Plug-in hybrid roll-out this fall? Anyone else seeing increases in the incentive in your region?
My local dealer here in Anaheim, shows online, only 3 Primes in stock, on 09-01-17. Don't know if this is temporary, but it is less than the typical 6-8 that I have seen in the past. Incentive was still only $1000 from Toyota. Hhmm.. .
i haven't seen any changes, but someone in another thread the incentive change date is sept.6. will be interesting if the northeast comes down to $2,000. regarding 'nationwide', do you mean they will now be sold in the other 35 states?
New incentives in my neck of the woods seem to usually show around the 3rd or 4th of the month, but already were posted yesterday on the 2nd when I checked. Since the incentive went up here, that should not predict a decrease in northeastern state incentives. Not sure if any of this means the Prime will now be rolled out to more states, just that insideevs.com noted the national inventory increased to this number.
Yes, below 1000 units per month (dismally low for the auto industry) almost the entire time since rollout.
thanks! that is a huge change. will be interesting to see august and september sales. still trying to figure out the increasing incentives, if supply is the problem.
August already up. Think September numbers will tell us if this is mostly a demand or supply issue. If inventory stays up, guessing they will move >2000 units this month.
Good to see Bolt sales finally picking up. It's rolling out to more and more states and national inventory is around a healthy 5000. It's the first 200+ mile non-luxury segment BEV, there's no wait list, and it's still widely the most affordable BEV with this sort of range after incentives.
Great plug-in site every enthusiast should have bookmarked: August 2017 Plug-In Electric Vehicle Sales Report Card The table is updated every month and over a few days as data is collected.
The bottom 2/3rds of that list is pitiful. I see 17 ELR's have been sold for the year. Is this just leftover 2016 inventory. Also It seems like there are way too many brand offerings for the US market. Perhaps those other ultra low sales numbers vehicles have much better take up in other countries.
