Hello, I have a 2016 Prius 3 touring and the rear view mirror is shaking a little on bumps and ruff road. The mirror image is stable while on flat roads, but the minute you go on some ruff road, you can see the mirror image shaking. any ideas on how to fix? Tx
A quiet word to the County Commissioner (to whom you have, of course, given your support at the proper time), and the road goes on the list for the next resurfacing job. More seriously, the rear view mirror is likely to vibrate some as you drive over rough surfaces. I’ve noticed that the one on my car wiggles even from bass notes played through the sound system at reasonable volume. The mirror assembly is secured to its bracket on the windshield with a T20 screw, and I suppose you might check that it’s torqued to specification (1.8 N·m {18 kgf·cm, 16 in·lbf}), but be careful that you don’t damage the assembly, the bracket, or the forward recognition camera. It’s also possible that your mirror assembly is defective; determine this by comparing with another vehicle.
Hope I'm not speaking out of turn here (UK), but have you asked your Toyota dealer for their opinion, as it may be covered under warranty.?
