I've seen people mention that they replaced their factory battery with an optima yellowtop, but they didn't mention the model #. I inadvertently put this thread in the incorrect forum previously
I asked Optima why the battery finder app on their website can never find a battery for the Plug-In. They replied that it does not come up on their website because it is "not a starting battery," AND that the yellow-top DS46B24R is indeed the correct match. Now, who has a safe procedure to change batteries without losing most of the saved settings and history of the car? Do it with the car running? Use the jump-start connection under the hood with a 2nd car while powered on? Many years ago I heard of connecting a simple 9v battery to the cigaret lighter, supposedly to supply enough voltage to preserve the radio and clock settings on an average car.
