It's been a couple months since I got my '08... maybe I'll get used to this. Cars have warning lights which are color-coded. Red means "stop", Amber/yellow means "hey, here's something you should know about". Other colors have their meanings. I still occasionally freak out when I see an amber light on my dashboard. It's an ingrained response. The fact that a passenger airbag exists is NOT worthy of an amber warning light. Maybe I'll just cover over that light. Apologies for the rant.
Then how will you know when a malfunctioning airbag deployment system fails to illuminate that light?
One thing, it is the boy who cried wolf. Any light that's constantly on, either to say the air bag's active (due to adult passenger in the seat) or saying it's disabled, becomes a light you cease to notice. I don't recall any of our Hondas having similar lights, not really sure though.
It seems Toyota went backward on this...My 2005 Prius has the same amber light, but it turns OFF after "proving" itself. My son's 2007 does NOT...so I know what you mean!
