That item certainly did make it to America and get some air time. But I can't say how it ranked on any of the popularity charts.
Something in the back of my mind does associate it more with stuff leaking across the border from Canada. But at my age, many memories also mix together such that origins are no longer traceable.
Gosh, I was born in 1958. A big fan of the Doors, the Dead, Janis, Jimmy and Bob. And, I actually kept up with bands pretty much through the 2012's or so. I managed a Grateful Dead tribute band in the early 1980s -- we played a number of semi-big gigs in the Los Angeles area, but I have no idea what you guys are talking about. Is it lack of my brain cells or what.
No, someone did indeed send me a letter from your continent confirming the local situation. The leaking was not from Canada, but quite specifically the opposite, way.... From Miami to CANADAAAAAA! Obviously.
I suspect it's more just a lack of exposure to the finest British music. Thanks for the video, though.
