The only thing worse than disgruntled federal employees who make $18/hr whether you make it to your flight or not????? Would be not having them, I'm guessing. #firstworldproblems. Don't like it? Drive.
I used to have to fly for a living but would be in any particular division of the company a week or two at a time.. When they took the enjoyment out of it I just started renting a car and spent the weekends driving. Now we take long trips (3,000 to 7,000 mile excursions around the country) every year but we haven't been on an airplane since 2007. A great experience seeing the intermediate sights instead of flying over them.
+1 !!! I haven't boarded a plane since (pausing to think.....) 05 I think.....at least not one that left the runway. When traveling for work I only used to fly when traversing a large body of water. However (comma!)...... I've also taken many flights when seating was made out of canvas, you had to wear hearing protection, the privy was a chem toilet, and the "meal" was "maybe" a standard box lunch or MRE. So.....I take little pity on pampered millennials who fuss and cuss about the antics of the TSA, ESPECIALLY when the airlines treating their "customers" like unwelcome cargo are "punished" by escalating profits. No. Thank. You. Granted....one can make a compelling argument that, for all of their inconvenience, the TSA has had some embarrassing breaches and they're about as 'efficient' as the USPS. That can be fixed.....given the appropriate political will, but as long as people aren't weaponizing airliners....I don't have a dog in that fight (sorry for the metaphor @bwilson4web !!!!) Like the USPS, the TSA generally gets the job done AND.....there are usually alternatives. So I'm fresh out of crap to give about it.....
There are many levels to Airport Security beyond TSA on face...most which the public will never see...and does not need to know about.
