My 2010 Toyota Prius has a code p2103. The check hybrid system warning light comes on and the check engine light is on. It will randomly cut off and then stop while I shut the engine off I restarted then it's fine after I give it gas and then I just randomly day later 2 days later just cuts off again with the check hybrid system and Check Engine light coming on. But after turning on and off 3 times it seams the check engine light goes off again. Got code P2103 from Advanced Auto Parts store with a cashier using diagnostic computer. Code can mean a new ECM is needed?
Welcome to Prius Chat . P2103 relates to the throttle body. Have you looked at it to see if there is : Damage Throttle plate moves freely Taken off the intake to see what is behind the plate I would remove the plastic intake hose and investigate the movement of the throttle plate. Cleaning it might be all you need. Merry Christmas .
Welcome to PC. As Ray said, the code you know about is the throttle body; P2103 2007 TOYOTA PRIUS Throttle Actuator Control Motor Circuit High Then there are the codes that the reader used by the auto parts store could not read; the ones that generated the check hybrid warning. That's unrelated. If I got apparently unrelated errors at the same time, I'd look for a common cause. That would be a low 12V battery. It is possible that you have both a TB problem and a hybrid system problem that showed up at the same time. But it seems much more likely that the 12V battery is not providing enough power for all the computers to work properly. First thing to do is grab your multimeter and check the voltage after the car has been off for a few hours.
Great, thank you. I did clean it 1 month ago with a Throttle body cleaner. But I'll get my mechanic to take it out and clean it better. Check the throttle plate to make sure it's tight.
Another thing to check is the oil level. At that mileage, does your Prius consume oil? When was the last oil change? What is the reading on the dipstick now? Keep us posted .
