I have a 2005 Prius with 115,000 miles. When I initially bought it at around 100,000 miles, I changed out the engine coolant (as well as the inverter coolant). During my last oil change, I noticed that I have some slight weeping around the engine water pump so I'm planning to replace that. Because I'm being a bit lazy, if I just remove the water pump without removing draining the coolant, would I lose almost as much coolant as if I've drained it? Should I just not be lazy? Thanks in advance.
Check thew Toyota dealer. There were a number of warranty replacements for that water pump that your car may not have received.
