I hanker, too, but the drivers here are just too stupid. It was bad enough getting rear ended in a car. It I'd been on a bike when that bone head plowed into me at 60 mph while I was waiting at a traffic light, it would have been enough to kill me 50 times over.
Yeah I quit bikes a long time back. I used to wear a backpack, would whimsically refer to it as my "5-point harness".
I've still got a bike - had 3 or 4 over 55 years. This one I bought 5 yrs ago 2nd hand, but then developed a sore shoulder which didn't agree with riding (bursitis) - so it's just been sitting - might get rid of it soon.
Hmmm - I'd have to go look in the shed - it's a road bike, with about 300 speeds - at least it feels like 300. My favourite bike was a lightweight semi-road-racer with only one low geared ratcheted sprocket when I was a teenager - I reckon I probably couldn't ride it now, I was very fit then, but I could get it up just about every hill.
