I have just purchased a 2007 JDM (NHW20-3329680)display all Japanese it only came with one key this is the non SKS model(black toyota symbol). I have read all the forums about adding another key easy enough. My question is my local wrecker(some call salvage yard) has a NZ new 2008 Prius will one of the keys from this work with my car?? Also would it work if i purchased a ebay(US) key?? I read somewhere that the keys(keyfobs) have different frequency's for different regions Thanks David
For the simple programming method to work you do need a new unused keyfob. I tried to look it up from Toyodiy and that gives different part numbers for JDM than other regions. So you probably do need a new key from Japan. Australian model seems to have the same key as European models. Is the New Zealand model same as Australian?
Yes it seems Australia and New Zealand same specs. I read the articles and its not to difficult to make remote Virgin again
