Just sold my 2010 Prius and purchased a newer 2013 fully loaded Prius, leather, heated seats, solar sunroof, JBL audio system, back up camera, with only 32k miles on it directly from a Toyota dealer when I was traveling in Indiana. Anyway I just visited my local Costco's to buy my new Prius some tires but I'm focusing more on fuel efficient tires. Costco's has a good deal on Michellin X-Tour rated for 80k miles for a total of $401 installed, etc which is an awesome deal.

I visited TireRack to see what they offer and they recommended Michellin Premiera AS, Continental True Contact and Firestone Fuel Fighter. I'm leaning more into the Michellin line of tires. But I never heard of these X Tour AS T+H tires? So what's the word on these tires? Good or? Also, any other recommendations? I want to focus on tires that are very fuel efficient... Thanks for the assistance guys~

The Toyo's came on mine but some, maybe most don't like them. Consumers report did a comparison years ago but those tires are probably gone. When a new hybrid comes along the manufacturer finds LRR tires that make their cars do good in testing. I would look and see what the other hybrid manufacturers are running to get good mpg numbers.

I have the Michelin X-Tour tires from Costco on my 2010. Have about 7500 miles on them and am very pleased. MPG is good in summer and snow traction also good. Hard to beat Costco for tires. I think they are running the 1 cent per tire installation fee now.

    The X-Tours are rebadged Defenders?

I believe they'll better the Premiers for mpg, just from what I'm reading.

The Defenders are "green-x" and Premiers are "total performance " badged, which is all clear as mud (thanks Michelin...) but I think the green-x is better.

Yes. The X-Tours are Costco's name for the Defender.

HAS ANYONE TRIED NOKIAS? OUR NOKIAN WINTERS HAVE PERFORMED WELL ON OUT 2014 HERE IN VT. I'D LIKE A LONG-LASTING AND QUIET SUMMER TIRE NOW.

I spent quite a bit of time trying to find a true summer tire for my Prius but all I ever found was winter or all season tires. Is there such a thing as a summer tire anymore.

There's Michelin Energy Saver (without the A/S suffix).

Thanks for asking this question. I'm just about to spring for new tires and have had a lot of luck with Costco on previous cars. Looks like the x-tours!
