Some time ago, my wife managed to break the antenna base on her Prius v, but I put the antenna back on and it worked well enough that she tolerated it. I cleaned some snow off of her car and managed to dislodge the antenna, and it fell off while she was driving. So now I'm thinking it's a good time to replace the antenna base. Watching youtube videos, it doesn't seem so hard. I'm not sure what trim level the car is. It doesn't have navigation. There appear to be two parts that would probably work on the car, but I'm not sure which to buy. Is there a way to tell from the VIN?
Take the vin to a dealer parts house and they can tell you the actual part number. There are three different per car depending if it has satellite, the cellular emergency feature or just a cd fm. If its a v wagon, I have a pdf on here on how to access it. You do have to remove several panels. Plus the pdf shows where I bought it for much less than the local dealer.
