My wife's front right turn signal stopped working, so the rear is doing the fast flash to indicate that one of the bulbs is out. No worries, so I go to replace the front bulb and it looks good. I removed it and replaced it with a new bulb but this one isn't working either. One thing that I noticed is that the socket (per Toyota) doesn't have a clipped in wiring harness. It just has wire pigtails with what looks very similar to butt connectors. Is this really how Toyota connected the bulbs? What should be my next steps here? Maybe just use those pigtails and wire up a bulb for a function check? I have a voltmeter that I can use. What sort of voltage readings should I see? Thanks for the help.
12 volts. if there is no corrosion and no reading there, maybe clip the wires before the butt connectors and test there. also check for a fuse first. have you owned the car since new?
We haven’t had it since new. We got it 3 or 4 years ago. About 2 years ago, my wife ran over a dead deer, but there was no real damage other than lots of deer hair and a loosened heat shield on the exhaust. My thoughts exactly.
