Hello I have read several threads in the forum about the OBD DTC P1150..... and also done some other preliminary background First and /or to begin DTC P1150 as applied to a 2004 Gen 2 Prius Coolant Path clog heat storage system CHS Engine preheat coolant storage Possible causes found on initial search CHS sensor ecm flow control valve clog path .....many places to detect on this one (radiator core, heat core, HV inverter/converter circulation path, If anyone has any real feasible solution and a path for troubleshooting this I am grateful for help FYI also unsure about vehicle elapsed time without being operated in 2 year period
Has this vehicle been sitting unused for two (2) years? How many miles on this vehicle? Was this a 'salvaged' vehicle? What device did you use to retrieve that P1150 DTC? Have you read and or tried what was suggested in this thread? CHS Temp Sensor and P1150 | PriusChat
Was this a 'salvaged' vehicle? YES Has this vehicle been sitting unused for two (2) years? Hard to say on that maybe could be the timeline What device did you use to retrieve that P1150 DTC? Bosch loaner from Oreily auto part and scangauge 2 FYI further vehicle is drive able However any long distance creates 200 plus coolant temps on scanguage
My first possible focus is locating clog coolant path (maybe inverter /converter HS) or (heater core)
Another PC member recently had a coolant blockage issue, and finally reported it as a clog in the lower radiator: Constantly Overflowing Coolant | PriusChat If you're still stuck it tracking the problem down, here is the "path for troubling shooting" that DTC P1150:
It will keep the troubleshooting simpler to remember that the HV inverter/converter cooling loop is completely separate and has nothing in common with the engine loop; this code's about the engine loop. (I know we covered that on the other thread already, but just to keep things clear for others who might find this thread later....) -Chap
