One way to check is with a thermometer or an infrared gun. I’d check the temp in the reservoir with an IR gun and compare it to what you are seeing in your scan device. Any accidents or front end damage to your Prius?
Yes front end damage. I believe the temperature readings I'm getting is acurate. Does that usually mean the temp sensor is not bad?
It could be reading accurate. Any damage to the radiator? If it’s still overheating, it might be a blockage. Any pictures of the damage? This might be the explanation to your AC issues as well.
Where is it bent at and how hard or how much damage didbthe impact cause? I bet it is impeding flow and this is why both the heater and engine coolant are not flowing correctly.
I’ve never had thebfront of the Prius off, but that might be where the return of the loop is. Might be worth ensuring no damage beforebthrowing more parts at your Prius.
Same problem here, coolant overheats within minutes and having cold cabin heater. had P0117 error code "engine coolant input low"
My problem turned out to be the water pump. It wasn't bad enough to throw a code but after replacing it everything was fine.
