I'm so mad at myself So I was opening my garage at the same time as the hatch was opening. (We have a Low Garage Cause of living room above) It made a horrible sound and there is a pretty deep scratch. Anyone have an Idea to fix the scratch.
Same thing happened to us near the charge port. We just left it so we won't have to experience the same shock later on. .
Close to the license plate If this was my car it would be right here Were was the scratch? was it a key?
Ouch, Have u tried... Well... Ummm... A... plunger... to... pop out the dent. There are many youtube videos on this method. Ummm u may want to clean your car after... don't want THAT on your beautiful Tesla? Or is it a Prime
I believe that part is plastic so you can touch it up but I mean once you dent plastic, it's hard to repair it unless you take it to the body shop to fill up the cavity and sand out the ridges.
If it's just paint, then hopefully a touch-up will help. It has both a paint and a clearcoat side on the pen. It won't be pretty though as my success rate in hiding a scratch is pretty low lol. I usually just do chips since I have a higher success rate of hiding them (it looks ugly with just the paint but it's better hidden once you apply the clearcoat). On the plus side, plastic won't rust.
It's right on a crease, so that'd be a major no-go .... especially because it's aluminum, which is very resilient at keeping its existing shape. YouTube videos of aluminum rework show this as an area that will definately require paint rework - as well as removal of a bunch of parts to get at the back side of the metal. that sky blue light is the charge port. BAM !!! It takes a bit of directed light & just the right angle to notice it .... but being the only flaw (not even front end rock chips .... yet) in the paint/body - and chest / stomach height? oh yea, we notice. Baaah ... it sorta helps remind us to have humility. .
