Hello Everyone, I'm having Toyota prius Gen 4 - 2010 model car. Trip and display buttons are not working on the steering wheel. Recently, i was going on the bumps of the road and it stopped working. I did some research on it, i got my battery checked with Autozone, they said it's working fine. So, I visited toyota dealers to diagnose my car, they said, New steering wheel control switch is needed. They gave me a quote of 568$ along with the labor. When I check online, Control switch didn't cost much. What should I do ? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you
Double-check whether the control switch you see online is the one with "touch tracer"; if you have a IV, I think you have that, and the switches are not interchangeable. The one without is less money, but won't have the microcontroller it needs to get the extra signals over the same wires. -Chap
Thank you for you reply, Sorry it's actullay gen -III, I don't have touch tracer, i only have a circle buttons with 5 buttons on it. Can you please tell me is quote given by dealer worth it ?
