While it's doesn't in anyway compare to Techstream, you can do temp monitoring with scanguage; you need to program in XGauges, which is readily easy to do

I used to be able to find a good video on the nuts-and-bolts of XGauge entry, but maybe author took it down, not seeing it.

I bought one of those knock off Techstream on the Internet and was doing some TPMS work on my spare set of tires. It reads everything fine but you need the Utility tab under TPMS to register a new sensor.

I contacted the vendor and they said SORRY.

My TPMS light is off when my car is in the garage near my original tires and when I leave the garage I checked how long it took to get the light to come on and it was 45 minutes, at 44 minutes the light started flashing and one minute later it stayed on solid. The next time I start the car in the garage next to my old tires the light goes out again.

The owners manual quotes 20 minutes.

You could try downloading a different version ;).

The member I share the Prolong equipment with downloaded and loaded a version 12 of the Techstream software (which booted my version 10.30.029 off of te laptop).

That did not have the utility and also lacked the ability to interface with many of the ECUs:(.

Deleted that version and went back to 10.30.029 and haven’t looked back:).

Been able to help a coworker map a new key fob to their 2010 Prius so far with the setup(y).

I found and downloaded the version of Techstream you mentioned Ray, it's a nice day outside today and I will load it on a rainy day. Thanks

I would love to try connecting techstream to Prime, but I have problem with driver for mini VCI. My old netbook running 32 bit Windows 7 doesn't seem to recognize mini VCI connected. Those are cheapo rip off version from Ebay, and I can't remember what version of Techstream I purchased to tell the truth. Do you have any recommendation what I can try to fix this?

I had an old XP laptop laying around unused, it's slow but it still seems to be the easiest to use with Techstream from what I gather.

I wonder if it is possible to create a bootable CD with XP and Techstream on it. So you can take a modern laptop, reboot it with said CD and be in Techstream land. Has anyone tried that? Is is feasible? I am no wondows expert, but I think such a thing can be done.

Just rummaging, I see I've got original Windows 98 disks, both original and Service Pack 1 versions. I wonder if I had an old laptop, would there be any impediment to loading that operating system? I believe they're legal purchase, came with previous systems.

Since each software comes on a cd, by the transitive property that could work;).

But licensing might be the challenge:whistle:.

Only one way to find out (y).

I see official techstream site says win7 or 8 is required, but I'm thinking with these older, knock-off copies, win xp was the compatible one? Or win 98?

Not sure if it's just my provider, anyone else find the priuschat going really slow?

Addendum: ok, now found Windows XP service Pack 2, and see some knock-offs on Amazon saying that will work. There's various Techstream versions?
