When we switched over from the corrola to the prime the interior just felt like a camary, Even though its dimensions aren't even really close to the size of a camary, Does anyone else feel this or am I imagining Is the prime midsize "Liftback" even though the dimensions don't say so
I am not sure what is the definition of Mid-size vs compact? Prime cabin feels bit tighter compared to Gen3 I used to drive, but again, I am not sure of dimension differences.
when i test-drove the prime from my pip, i didn't notice a difference, but i haven't driven a corolla.
Because Camry is a sedan, the EPA volumes are accurate as follows: Pass Vol 100.4-ft3 Cargo Vol 15.1-ft3 Total 115.4-ft3 (2018 Camry with compact spare) For liftbacks like Prius, the automakers have some freedom to shift space quotes to show more cargo volume if they want to, so here is my attempt to put Prius on the same "accurate" basis as Camry: Interestingly, suggests Prius is a little bigger based on the fact that EPA total vol is valid to compare. Prime might be a tad smaller, but that is probably mostly in the rear hatch. P.S.- Given 15-ft3 for Camry trunk vol, does anyone really believe Gen4 Prius has 27.4-ft3 in the hatch?...not me anyways
Just wondering what the word "Camry" means. I had to looked it up... Toyota explains what names like Camry and Yaris mean - Autoblog what about Camry? That comes from the Japanese word kanmuri for Crown (which is, incidentally, the name of another Toyota sedan). Now, I know it.
The thing that surprised me was that the Prime was the same length as the Prius v. (and that visually looks like a large car even though it's still shorter than a Camry). Design is definitely favoured over function for this generation so we no longer have the midsize car in a compact body. (The Prius was also shorter than the Corolla of the same era.- It still is, if you don't count the Prime)
