Folks, I'm not in love with the huge area of black on the front of the Prime, so I've done a very rough bit of Photoshopping to colour a couple of the front panels. Any comments? I assume painting the two panels would be a fairly easy task for a friendly Toyota dealer. Chris
Do it in plastidip yourself. Each can (you'll only need one) of paint color you can use to test how it looks. Just need some electrical tape to tape off the area and maybe some newspapers to cover large areas from overspray. Ive seen stickers that go there that were like red and blue and it looked really cool.
Hi Sara, It seems I'm not the first to have this idea. Thanks for the Plastidip suggestion. Do you have a website for the stick-on panels? Looking around for it I found other possible solutions that I found on eBay and nigel-jdmparts.
If you dont mind a bit of a struggle, Rakuten.co.jp sells TONS of Prime embellishments. If you use chrome and the built in translation feature, you can figure it out. Search for "Prius PHV" to find the prime stuff.
Thanks Sara! Rakuten really has TONS of stuff as you say. And I love the translations. The one for this product below declares that the mod "Directed a car of a high class feeling up a notch." And that's exactly what I intend to do with the Prime. Looking at these photos, you have to wonder why Toyota didn't design the car this way in the first place, but I guess then the Japanese aftermarket industry wouldn't have anything to do.
