I have a 2013 Prius Persona has 100,000 miles on the clock. I have replaced the remote battery 2 times and it only last about 3 days before its dead. I also replaced the battery in the wifes remote hers works as it should. My question is this how these remotes go bad and you replace them . Any help would be appreciative Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
I checked that they all seem to click when pushed down . I even took remote out of the case the swithes seem to click when pushed in and out. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Check the button battery package expiration date. And if you bought a good pack at a good price from ebay, thats how it goes. When I cheap out like that, the button batteries don't last.
i suppose the fob could be bad. try cleaning the buttons and circuit board. a new fob will be a few hundred bucks i think.
I checked the expiration date 20/20 bought the Batteries at a local store but I suppose it's possible to get two bad ones. I will try one from a different place . Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Yes was in hers for about 2 weeks. I replaced her again and works fine after 3 weeks this has been going on for a little over 2 months Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
not the battery then. there are some threads here on cleaning, but many fobs just never work again, unfortunately.
