Take to it to another Toyota dealer. Their are lots of reasons. One thing you have to know is what diagnostic codes is it giving? Odds are good it needs the ecus reflashed for one thing.
Yes the orange interlock is in place ,everything was put back in place ,car lights up and every other function works except the engine starting, my nearest toyota dealer is 100km ,the nearest afet the one i am at , now this one only has one technician that handles prius and he is on a 15 day vacation ,it took them 15 days to look at the car , so he looked at it the day before he left on vacation and now i have to wait another 15 days .the guy supposedly ran it through a scanner and couldn't figure out whatever the results were , the only thing i get is ,cars need maintenance if you want them to last .
Did you remove the orange interlock? If you removed it, you need to LOCK it in place. It flips up and then you have to slide it to lock it. If you miss this step, your engine won't start
After 8 weeks they finally figure it out it as the ECU that got damage and i need a new one ,3 days to get it from the main factory and lets hope thats it
After saying it was the ECU went back and the mechanic said it wasnt the ECU that would need to call an engineer from the main dealer and it could take up to 3 months .3 days later i got a text msg saying to pick up the car that it was ready ..tried to call to make sure it wasnt a mistake but no answer so i went to the dealer . There it was...and it was ready ..the weird thing is that they said it was the ECU and a cable that was not in the right place .So 1300 € later and a new ECU car was ready , the next day as i was driving it the over heating light came on and the engine light ..my heart about exploded..anyway ..it was just because since the engine had never ran it had air in the system so it was low on coolant top it up and all is well since then , but for 1300 they could of at least bleed the system ..but well could be worse ..at least they wash the car
I really like the car ,unfortunally things happen , but what really gets me scared its that the main dealers after all this years only have 1 guy that kind of knows the car so if we ever run into a probem besides changing oil and filter it seems like we are left in a limbo and have to pray to whatever gods you believe in and hope that it can be fixed , it took almost 3 months to get it fixed once it was in the dealer
You have to patiently and politely insist that they escalate. Toyota has regional and product line specialists. Been through this on a very rare problem (not on this forum or any other) and it took a bit of gentle pressure before the escalation within Toyota occurred.
