This morning I couldn't unlock my car with the FOB. I changed the battery and it still won't lock or unlock. Driving with the key FOB in the slot I drove home and now I have lights on my dash. The brake light, ((!)) ABS VSC. Could these have anything to do with my key? Where is the best place to get a new key?
Brake Actuator Assembly c1256 and c1391 ABNORMAL LEAK OF ACC PRESS This is the worst car I have ever owned.
I'll test it next time I have to drive it. Right now I'm airing up my tire to ride my bicycle in for a new tube and chain tune-up. Everybody who owns a Prius needs a bicycle because most of the time your Prius is in the shop. My 2008 Pious is the biggest financial mistake I ever made. Granted I'm only 67 years old and still have mistakes to make but up to 67 years old the Prius is the worse car I have ever owned.
LOL. Buys an end of life second hand car, then wonders why parts need to be replaced. Yes, probably was your worst decision. I am actually very sympathetic to your plight, even though it probably doesn't sound like it.
Is that after a full night's rest? Meter at the battery terminals or via car computer? Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Ya, that's not the way do get an accurate measurement. Use the built in test on the car's computer after a full night's rest. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Thanks! I used this built in method after letting it sit overnight. Mine read 12.3 , 12.0 and 14.2 using those tests.
Well done. Alas, the warning lights are not due to your healthy battery. Now it's time to get the fault codes via Techstream. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Thanks for the encouragement. I just tested the HV as best I could. I got on a flat long highway, reset my consumption and set Cruise to 50mph. I got 51.7 mpg over 10 miles so the HV battery is fine. The codes from Autozone say it's the brake acuator and it's been making odd noises ever since I owned the car. Actually, I took my car to the dealer and they confirmed the BA was going out about 2 months ago. They wanted $4,000 and it was only out of warranty 60 days. Asked them to make an exception and they barley budged. My car has 111k. I have only owned the car for 3000 miles. Since that time the combo meter and invertor had to be replaced and now the Brake actuator and a new key at minimum. None of those are inexpensive options as you well know and seems excessive for a car that I have only driven 3000 miles. I have an appointment Tuesday morning and just hope it doesn't cost more than another $1200 for this $5000 car..
Gotta wonder if the seller didn't know about any/all of these problems...did you have the car inspected at a dealer before you purchased? Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
