    there was a special program at wdw flower show a few years back. a presentation by the head landscape architect on how they developed the landscape at disneyland.

    a lot of new techniques had to be developed to move mature trees from al over socal to the park.
    they had incredible old pictures and movies, and walt oversaw everything personally.
    they would constantly tell him it can't be done or too expensive, but he wouldn't take no for an answer.

    if he had lived, wdw would be completely different than it is today.

    Absolutely. I wish he had lived another 20 years. Wonderful man.

    A former coworker of mine was a mechanic at Disneyland for several years. He told me about "the city under the city", the huge spaces under the park. And all the hidden/secret access/exit points that cast members and security use. And the very rarely mentioned "members-only club", a very expensive membership. Disneyland should give a behind-the-scenes tour. That would be interesting.

    Soon after I retired, (12 yrs ago) I interviewed for a security job there. The pay was $11 per hour back then. They wanted to hire me, but then I got to thinking about having to walk about 15 miles(?) per shift... :ROFLMAO: and in all that heat! If I had been younger, I would've done it. That's a young man's job.

    I think there was recent strikes, or marches, about the low pay. The employees want a liveable wage.
    For a lot of people, that is their full-time work.

    i did the same, but never went so far as to interview. i was thinking street sweeper.:cool:

    Yep, I thought about that, too. :) Or a ride operator, but I think those jobs go to the higher seniority people? Everybody there seems so young. Or maybe I'm just looking thru old eyeballs!

    And I could fit perfectly in that tall GOOFY costume! ;)
