Hi Peeps, I will install the Avest side mirror blinkers so I’m looking for the left and right blinker hot wires as well as the ACC and 12+ wires. I want to avoid tapping into the fuse. Can anyone direct me to the necessary 4 wires? Thanks!
I don't think that the blinkers have "wires." I think that the lights are probably controlled by the CANbus, which is a digital signal based system. The blinker command is coded and sent to the CANbus and applied at the light location by a decoder. In othervwords, there are no separate "wire" circuits. Rather, individual components are all hooked to the CANbus and function when the proper signal is on the network wire. At least that is my rather rudimentary understanding.
That may be true of other vehicles, but not for any Prius cars to date, which use conventional turn signal wiring. On the fourth-generation Prius and Prius Prime, the current for the turn signal lights is switched by a flasher circuit in the combination meter assembly. The wiring is shown in the Turn Signal and Hazard Warning Light section of the Electrical Wiring Diagram, excerpted in the thread you kindly linked and available by subscription to techinfo.toyota.com.
Followed this guide: Avest Side Mirror install | PriusChat Prius Prime Premium will not have the yellow and blue wires. For the Premium Trim, use the purple and green wires. Hope this helps anyone else looking for it.
