Did I ever!!! I am so blessed. We're back. Mostly unpacked. Laundry done. Lawn mowed. Back to the office this morning. The return trip began Saturday morning with an 8-9 hour drive in a van full of teammates from Mango to our hotel in Lomé. It was so rough that it counted as 61 minutes of exercise on my Apple watch. LOL!! Spent the night at a beachside hotel in Lomé that was't the Ritz but the food was great and the A/C and toilets worked. Then we went through the security gauntlets at the airport that are WAY WAY WAY more rigorous than in the US and began our 11-hour flight to Newark. Had to spend the night there since it was too late for a flight to Tampa. Finally got home about 4:30 Monday. Whew! That trip is the reason my wife never wanted to go before, but she endured it this time and I'm so glad she got to see the place in person.
International flying can be grueling. I am glad that is behind you. A couple of weeks ago, my son went to to Warsaw Poland & back to bring home a small 7 month old dog originally from Latvia. That provides some additional interesting experiences and a long weekend. He left on Friday & returned on Sunday
Especially with a dog show in town. He took the following week off work to recover and get his new dog acclimated to timezone & other changes.
I put together a little 1-minute iMovie trailer today that kind of shows a little of what went on last week, plus some of the construction activity from February.
