Instrument panel problem

    2011 Prius: Why is it that when I turn on my running/ headlights my instrument panel darkens? It doesn't go out but it is hard to see. Is there an adjustment?

    Yes. Look for the rotary dial to the left of the steering wheel, on the dashboard.

    And if you roll the dial completely in direction 1 you will encounter a detent where the instrument panel will be full daytime illumination. That is where I set it when driving in inclement weather during the day with headlights on.

    Did you try this fix? I have mine rolled all the way in the direction of 1 and then you can push it a little further and it clicks in a super bright mode...that is where I keep mine!
