Somebody knows where I can buy a kit repair for the brake booster pump with master cylinder? Anyboby rebuilt a pump of prius 2010? Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
(a) "brake booster pump with master cylinder" is not the name of any part in a 2010. There is a "brake booster with master cylinder" (note the absence of the word 'pump'), and there is a "brake booster pump" (but this is a separate part, not joined to the master cylinder). (b) To the best of my knowledge, neither the "brake booster with master cylinder" nor the "brake booster pump" has a rebuild kit on offer. Whichever one it turns out you need, the expectation is to just replace it. The Gen 1 master cylinder had a rebuild kit available. Later generations have rebuild kits only for calipers/wheel cylinders. -Chap
it is very hard to find a repair kit these days, however, if you are willing to do reverse engineering, then welcome.
People mix up the names of the parts all the time, so the first step is to clarify which of these two parts you're looking for: After that, it is not hard to look up at parts.toyota.com if that link works in your location.
Dear ChapmanF thanks for the picture, I have opened it and save it, and appreciate if you can lead me to the source. Accumulator function is to store the pressurized brake fluid and maintain the pressure during a braking operation. but does it have an electrical pump or sensors since the picture you have posted shown a cable harness socket?
Here's a couple of links, not rebuild kits, just the complete assembly: https://www.amayama.com/en/catalogs/toyota/prius/3-hatchback-right-xw30-2009-2830/2/139 BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER. 2011 Toyota Prius Hatchback HYBRID | Toyota The first sources parts typically from either Japan or (wait for it...) United Arab Emirates. The second is a US website. Also, it seems like only Amayama has the item for sale, and has at least 1/2 dozen versions listed. One thing puzzles me, for both links, are they only showing the Brake Booster Assembly, not the Brake Booster Pump Assembly (Accumulator). Hopefully @ChapmanF can shed some light. Addendum: Ah, here's the other puppy, on the Amayama site: https://www.amayama.com/en/catalogs/toyota/prius/3-hatchback-right-xw30-2009-2830/2/145 And US site: BRAKE TUBE & CLAMP. 2011 Toyota Prius Hatchback HYBRID | Toyota
Yes, the pump is electric. It is the smaller of the two cylindrical objects shown in the assembly. The other one is the accumulator proper.
I just bought a booster pump from Toyota and then saw a seller on ebay who sells a new one for $399, which is much less than I paid. It has a one year warrenty. I wonder if it will last as long as Toyota's pump.
Yes I have noticed those third party pumps as well. Given the track record of aftermarket Prius egr valves and water pumps, I would buy oem from an online Toyota dealer for $135 more. Especially considering the difficult access and the importance to your braking.
