I have car mechanic and also working for hybrid cars Last week i face a problem that genration 2 prius came in for checking abs check lights. When i check it than there is a code of my sacnner is Hydraulic System(RR). And ABS lights are blowing. And there is no break oil pressure at rear right wheel. Only rear right wheel is sliping when i apply break on above 40kmph. Is there any solution rather than to replaceing of ABS Thanks in advance Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
A Prius capable code reader would read the DTC and the 3 digit sub-code. "C1343-###." Your bluetooth reader will not read sub-codes, many Prius codes too, and can NOT bleed the brakes. You should get a Techstream software to read ALL codes and have the ability to bleed the brakes. Did someone work on the rear brakes? Is there any damage to the right rear abs sensor wires from road debris or animals chewing on ABS wires? Is brake fluid leaking anywhere along the brake system, especially the right rear line? If SO, repair the leak and bleed the brake system. Techstream or a similar higher end code reader will be required to bleed the Prius brakes. Be prepared to go through a lot of brake fluid. The system holds 1 gallon of DOT3 brake fluid.
The repair manual says that the problem is either fluid leakage, or the brake actuator assembly, or the right rear brake rotor (if the car has disc brakes). If the car has drum brakes then look for a problem with the brake wheel cylinder. There are no three digit info codes generated by the skid control ECU, by the way. As previously suggested, you need Toyota Techstream (Mini VCI is a clone) when the time comes to bleed the braking system.
Thanks for sharing that, as my manual is from 2005. Does your manual provide different root causes related to the five info codes?
Too funny. 2005 manual, no INF codes. 2006 manual (and possibly beyond), INF codes, but same info as 2005 to check.
